UFC Headed To Belem; Birthplace Of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Belem Brazil To Host UFC IN 2018

On February 3, 2018 Brazilian MMA Fans Are In For A Treat. Combate Reports That UFC Will Make Their Live Debut In Belem, Brazil.

Brazil has long been a hotbed of jiu-jitsu but this particular place is where it all started. When 15 yr. old Carlos Gracie 1st began learning techniques from Mitsuyo Maeda in 1917, no one could have thought this is where it would lead.  With the help of his Brother Helio, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was born in Belem, Brazil. Now 100 yrs, later the Gracie name is Legend.

The Fight Night card will take place at the Mangueirinho gymnasium in the capital of Param, Brazil. This weekends returning headliner Lyoto Machida had this to say:

“It’s gonna be a dream to fight in my city. It’s amazing. It’s gonna be amazing if it happens.”

Vitor Belfort vs Uriah Hall is expected to be on this card.
