Niko Price vs George Sullivan

On Fightpass Prelims, we get a welterweight matchup between Niko Price and George Sullivan. Price comes into this fight suffering his 1st professional loss at the hands of Vincent Luque. A fight that he took on 2 weeks notice. There has been and still is a lot of hype around the 28-year-old out of Cape Coral, FL. He will be looking to rebound from this loss and score a nice victory against Sullivan.

Sullivan is a 36-year-old fighter out of Belmar, New Jersey. Sullivan, who has not fought for 2 years, is also coming off a loss in his last fight. The veteran will be looking to score a big win over the hot prospect.

Both fighters have that knockout power and will be looking to put it on display tonight. 70% of Price’s victories have come via TKO/KO, whole 65% for Sullivan. 18 combine knockouts for the two fighters.

Round 1:

Both fighters come out and touch gloves and we are off. Both fighters are finding their range early on. Few punches were thrown but nothing landing. Sullivan lands a couple leg kicks and the lands a 3 punch combination.  Price is quick to get Sullivan’s back to the cage and lands a takedown. Price lands a quick knee to the body of Sullivan as he tries to get back on his feet.  As they get back to their feet, Sullivan tries to get a takedown, but Price turns it around and scores another takedown.  Sullivan scores a quick knee right before the bell. Close round that could go either way.

Round 2:

Sullivan comes out pressing again and lands one to the head of price. Price counters a beautiful right hand and follows it up with a knee to the midsection of Sullivan. Sullivan though is quick to be on the defense and scores a takedown. Sullivan does a good job controlling on top and landing punches and elbows on the head of Price. Price show great escape skills and quickly turns it around and scores a takedown himself.  Price gets into great position and gets a deep choke to score the 2nd round submission.
