UFC 221 Recap: Tyson Pedro Gets The Win With An Impressive 1st Round Kimura Submission

The Main Card of UFC 221 kicks off with a light heavyweight bout between Australian  Tyson Pedro and Dagestani  Saparbek Safarov.

At 26 years old of age Pedro sums up two impressive UFC wins against Khalil Rountree and Paul Craig. He finished both fighters in the first round with a TKO and a submission. Saparbek Safarov, a master of combat sambo, and former champion enters the Octagon as the underdog. He looks to rebound from his UFC debut TKO loss against Gian Villante.

We see Safarov struggling with the kicks for a moment. Safarov tries to counter with a left but misses. We later see both fighters going back and forth standing up. Safarov tries for the takedown. He successfully takes Pedro down, both fighters scramble and Tyson Pedro manages to get hold of Safarov’s arm. He goes for the Kimura submission and applies it to perfection.
