Cormier vs Jones or Manuwa & de Randamie vs Cyborg for UFC 214?

Not a single fight has been announced for UFC 214, but there is plenty of buzz gathering around it already. This is due to some of the top stars in the sport making announcements on their Instagram accounts about it.

First, UFC light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier broke news on his Instagram. He said that he would be in Anaheim on July 29th, and will bring the title with him. He asked who will challenge him, former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones or Jimi Manuwa. This announcement is coming off yesterday’s news that UFC President Dana White said that Jones would get first crack at Cormier if he was ready.

Jones, who never lost his title in the octagon has been feuding with Cormier for years. The two fought at UFC 182, where Jones gave Cormier the only lost of his career. They were scheduled to face each other several times since but the fight keeps getting cancelled. The last one coming at UFC 200, where Jones was removed from the card due to a USADA violation. Furthermore Jones and Cormier went at each other recently on Twitter where Cormier accused Jones of using steroids.

Jones isn’t the only person that Cormier has fought with recently on Twitter. Cormier and Manuwa went at it. Manuwa stating that Cormier wouldn’t box with him. Manuwa is on a two fight winning streak inside the octagon.

The UFC light heavyweight title might not be the only title fight on the line at UFC 214. Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino announced on her Instagram that she will face UFC women’s featherweight champion, Germaine de Randamie at UFC 214, though she quickly deleted the post. Cyborg is widely considered the top women’s featherweight fighter in the world. Cyborg would enter the contest after beating Lina Lanberg, while De Randamie won the vacant title on a controversial win over Holly Holm.

The UFC has not yet commented on the news.

UFC 214 is scheduled for July 29th in Anaheim, California.
