During Thursday’s media lunch for UFC 216, two of the sport’s top stars got into a heated verbal exchange. Tony Ferguson and Fabricio Werdum had to be separated after a brief exchange.
Ferguson got upset with Werdum for when he believed that Werdum had disrespected him and interrupted Ferguson while he was answering a reporter’s question. The two got into a heated exchanged in both Portuguese and Spanish and had to pulled away from each other by UFC PR man, Chris Costello.
Ferguson is scheduled to fight in the main event of UFC 216 against Kevin Lee for the interim UFC Lightweight title. Werdum, the former heavyweight champion, will fight Derrick Lewis on the main portion of the card.
UFC 216 is scheduled for October 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
