TKO 41: heavyweight champion Adam Dyczka and middleweight title challenger Strahinja Gavrilovic both flagged of anti-doping policy violation
TKO heavyweight champion Adam Dyczka (7-0 MMA) and TKO middleweight title-challenger Strahinja Gavrilovic (7-5 MMA) both flagged for anti doping policy violation.
Adam “Kung Fu Panda” Dyczka (7-0 MMA, 5-0 TKO) won the heavyweight belt at TKO 41: Champions where he stopped Bakary “Black Panther” Sakho (1-1 MMA, 0-1 TKO) via first round technical knockout to gain the vacant TKO heavyweight belt. However, a month later, an in-competition test taken December 8th has been flagged. The substance the heavyweight champion tested positive for was marijuana. A full hearing will take place with the Quebec athletic commission.
Strahinja “The Werewolf” Gavrilovic (7-5 MMA, 2-2 TKO) lost a gruelling 5 round split decision to close rival Marc-André “Power Bar” Barriault (9-1 MMA, 4-0 TKO) for the vacant middleweight championship. However, Gavrilovic also got flagged for a anti-doping violation. The substance Gavrilovic flagged for is currently unknown at this time. A full hearing will take place with the Quebec athletic commission. Gavrilovic is supsended Indefinitely and his bout with close rival Jo Vallée at TKO 42 has been scrapped. The bout would have been a rematch, with Valée inning the first bout by first round disqualification due to Gavrilovic refusing to stop punching his knocked out opponent in Valée, with officials having to restrain Gavrilovic. The bout was giving to Valée due to “unsportsmanlike conduct”.
Both fighters supended indefinitely.
