UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy announced his retirement today on Facebook. Kennedy, who has a 16 year career in MMA, was a former Strikeforce champion, before coming to the UFC. Kennedy returned to the octagon at UFC 206 after a 2 year layoff to face Kelvin Gastelum, losing by 3rd round TKO. Kennedy dropped his last two fights, and finished with a 3-2 UFC record and a 18-6 record overall.
Kennedy is also a retired Army Ranger and Green Beret sniper, and currently serves in the Army National Guard.
Kennedy starred on the History Channel’s series “Hunting Hilter” and is on the Isis hit list. He is also co-owner of the “Ranger Up” clothing line.
Kennedy stated that he will continue to be apart of the MMA world and will continue to fight for fighter’s right.
