Thiago Silva In To Meet James McSweeney

Will Meet At KSW 45

KSW announced that Thiago Silva 20-7-0, 2 NC MMA will be stepping in for an injured Michal Andryszak to meet James “The Hammer” McSweeney 15-16 MMA (1-1 KSW) at KSW 45 on October 6, in London, England.


Silva will be debuting for the promotion after going 2-2 in ACB. He is coming off a split decision loss to Mikhail Kolobegov at ACB 82 in March. In his last victory, he stopped Daniel Toledo via second-round TKO at ACB 74 last November. Sixteen of his twenty wins come by stoppage with fourteen via KO/TKO.

McSweeney is coming into the bout on a three-fight skid dating back to his first-round TKO loss to Karol Bedorf at KSW 34 in 2016. He most recently dropped a unanimous decision to Fernando Rodrigues Jr. at Superior Challenge 17 in May. His last victory came in 2015 where he tapped Marcin Rozalski in the first round with a Rear-Naked Choke at KSW 32. All fifteen of his wins come by stoppage with nine via KO/TKO.
