The injury bug has struck the UFC today. Two more fighters, Teemu Packalen and Jeremy Kennedy were forced to withdraw from scheduled fights.
Packalen was supposed to fight Marcin Held at UFC Fight Night 118. He was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a knee injury. Packalen announced the news today on his Instagram.
Packalen was looking to rebuild after losing to Marc Diakiese in his last fight.
The UFC has not yet announced if Held will remain on the card. Held, who was a Bellator standout has struggled since joining the UFC. He is 0-3 so far.
UFC Fight Night 118 is scheduled for October 21st in Gdansk, Poland.
MMA Today is the one reporting that Kennedy was forced to withdraw from his fight due to a back injury. The undefeated fighter was scheduled to fight Alex Volkanovski at UFC Fight Night 121.
Kennedy is 3-0 in the UFC, while Volkanovski is 2-0. The UFC has not announced a replacement for Kennedy yet.
UFC Fight Night 121 is scheduled for November 18th in Sydney, Australia.
