Ex-UFC fighter and MMA veteran Justin Buchholz, best known most recently as an assistant coach for Team Alpha Male and assistant along side head coach Cody Garbrandt during “The Ultimate Fighter Redemption”, won his comeback MMA fight in dramatic fashion.
Buchholz (16-10) accepted a short-notice fight against Marques Facine (14-15) at Alaskan Fighting Championship 133 streamed on UFC Fight Pass. Buchholz would win the fight by TKO. After a slip by his opponent, Buchholz would throw five straight soccer kicks to the body. The sixth would land to the back of Facine’s head/neck area and would put Facine on the mat where he laid for several minutes. The on-site medical team would ultimately take Facine out on a stretcher. Despite the blow to the back of the head, the ref determined the strike did not determine the outcome of the fight and Buchholz was rewarded the TKO victory.
