Sam “Smilin” Alvey (31-10-1NC MMA, 8-5 UFC) vs Marcin Prachnio (13-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) set for UFC on FOX 28.


Sam “Smilin” Alvey (31-10-1NC MMA, 8-5 UFC) is looking to rebound after a unanimous decision loss to Ramazan Emeev (16-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 118. Alvey has won five of his last seven fights, with his biggest wins coming over former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad “Suga” Evans (19-7-1 MMA, 14-7-1 UFC) via split decision at UFC Fight Night 114 and recently retired and former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nate “The Great” Marquardt (35-19-2 MMA, 13-11 UFC) via unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 23. Alvey has not been on a win streak since January 2017. He will now look to move up to light heavyweight for this bout.

Marcin Prachnio (13-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will be making his UFC debut and will be looking to continue his momentum bringing an 8 fight win streak to this bout. Prachnio, the Polish native has fought at 3 weight classes in his fifteen MMA fight career, fighting at middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. His last 4 MMA fight have come under the ONE Championship banner, most recently beating Gilberto “Giba” Galvão (30-6-1 MMA, 1-1 ONE) via first round technical knockout at ONE Championship: Kings and Conquerors at middleweight. Prachnio eleven via finish with ten being by knockout / technical knockout.

This bout will be contested at light heavyweight (205 lbs).
