USA Today is reporting that Ronda Rousey and the WWE is in the final stages of closing a deal to have Rousey join the organization. The USA Today reported two sources close to the situation revealed the news.
Rousey was at a WWE show back in September to support former UFC fighter turned professional wrestler Shayna Baszler. During the taping of the show, Rousey was used in a wrestling storyline, where she was confronted by Charlotte Flair and over female wrestlers. Rousey said to them “you name the time. You name the place”. Rousey has also been seen training at the WWE’s High-Performance Center.
Rousey, who was an Olympic bronze medalist in Judo made her fame in the UFC. She became the first UFC bantamweight champion and defended the belt six times. She was shocked at UFC 193 when she was knocked out by Holly Holm in a stunning upset. Rousey attempted a comeback at UFC 207 when she was knocked out by the champion, Amanda Nunes. Rousey has greatly limited her public appearances since losing to Holm.
The details of Rousey’s deal has not been reported. Rousey, the WWE, and the UFC have yet to confirm the news.
