Farah Hannoun is reporting that Josh Emmett has stepped up and agreed to fight Ricardo Lamas at UFC on Fox 26.
Lamas was originally scheduled to fight former UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo Jr. However, Aldo Jr was removed from the fight to replace Frankie Edgar and fight the champion, Max Holloway at UFC 218. Lamas and Aldo originally fought when Aldo was the champion at UFC 169, where Aldo beat Lamas by decision. Since that loss, Lamas has gone 5-2. He is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, where he beat Charles Oliveira and Jason Knight.
Emmett is a fighter out of Team Alpha male, He started his career, 11-0 including winning his first two fights in the UFC. He tasted defeat for the first time at UFC 210 when he lost a decision to Desmond Green. Emmett was able to bounce back from defeat in his last fight when he beat Felipe Arantes.
UFC on Fox 26 is scheduled for December 16th in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
