Ray Borg Gives Statement on Withdrawing From UFC 215 Fight

UFC flyweight spoke with MMAWeekly less than 24 hours before he withdrew from his title fight with  Demetrious Johnson. Borg withdrew from the main event fight due to being sick.

Borg said the following:

“First, I want to say I’m sorry to the fans and to Demetrious Johnson for being unable to fight, I want to say thank you to Dr. Davidson, the UFC and to Jeff Novitsky for looking out for my health and best interests. I also want to add that I am no longer working with Perfecting Athletes and Michelle Ingels, who was not authorized to speak on my behalf.”

Borg was upset with Ingels, who released a statement on the canceled fight on Thursday Night.

The women’s bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko has been replaced Johnson vs Borg as the new main event.
