Raquel “Rocky” Pennington (9-5) was rumored to be the next title challenger for UFC women’s Bantamweight Champion, Amanda Nunes (15-4). However, that fight appears to be on hold now. However, it’s being reported from Combate, that Pennington has broken her leg in a car accident. Reports are claiming that the car accident happened just yesterday (Oct.25) in Colorado.
Her last victory was at UFC 205, where she managed to pick up a unanimous decision against former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Miesha Tate (18-7).
The rumored bout was supposed to take place at UFC 219, which is taking place on Dec. 30. As of now, UFC 219 is without amain event.
The UFC, Pennington, and Nunes have yet to comment on the reported story.
