What’s good fight fans? Today I had the chance to sit down with and talk with Mike “The Lone Wolf” Trizano before his lightweight title fight at Maverick MMA 1 on April 7, 2017. Let’s take a quick seat with Mike and ask some questions.
Nick: At what age did you begin to train martial arts?
Mike: I started training at 17 years old.
Nick: What disciplines do you train and what belts do you have in them?
Mike: I’ve trained in all disciplines. Boxing, muay thai, jiu jitsu, wrestling, and kickboxing. Our training is a combination of everything. I am a 1st degree black belt in MMA.
Nick: What camp do you train out of and how long have you been with them?
Mike: I have trained with Tiger Schulmann’s MMA since the beginning.
Nick: What would you say your biggest strengths are inside the cage?
Mike: I am equally strong both standing and on the ground. So I would say my biggest strength right now for this fight will be my technique and my movement inside the cage.
Nick: Your nickname is The Lone Wolf. Who gave it to you? Why?
Mike: I referred to myself once as a lone wolf when i’m in the cage and the name stuck ever since.
Nick: I have been following you on twitter. “I will feast on the flesh of my enemies”, and “The wolf is ready to feed” are a few comments that you posted. Do these comments still hold true knowing your opponent is reading them?
Mike: They sure do. I’m the Lone Wolf so a lot of my comments relate to that. I don’t think about who is reading or seeing my comments, but so far I have been able to back them all up since I’m undefeated in MMA.
Nick: April 7 at Maverick MMA you will be facing a tough opponent in Tim Kunkel. Do you have a prediction for the fight?
Mike: I would like to get a knockout. I’ve been looking to get one.
Nick: Is there anything you would like to say to your opponent with fight night coming up quick?
Mike: I wish him good luck in the fight, but I’m pretty confident I’m going to be walking out of the cage with that belt.
Nick: Mike have you submitted to the takeover?
Mike: This is Mike “The Lone Wolf” Trizano and I have submitted to the takeover.
Well you heard it from the man himself. He is a fighter with a mission and a battle plan to get the job done. I have to thank Mike for taking the time to complete an interview with me. I wish him the best of luck in his title fight. I will be there covering the event live also so keep your eyes open on Twitter and give me a follow @NickPortellaMMA. This is Nick Portella signing off for The MMA TakeOver.
