Paul ”Semtex” Daley has asked Bellator for his release. He announced today on his personal Facebook account that the company has agreed to do so.
“They’re only your friend, until they’re not your friend”
I have politely asked for my RELEASE from BELLATOR MMA, which they have agreed to.
Once I have the paperwork through, stating that I am free to fight elsewhere, I will be looking to fight out my last 18 months in this sport with the organisation that can put together the most exciting fights for my loyal fans.
However, it is important to highlight that Bellator officials have not yet confirmed Daley’s release. Recently, MMAjunkie reporters have been told by officials that Daley remains signed with Bellator.
There have been talks of a bout against undefeated welterweight star Michael “Venom” Page (12-0). However, Page has taken time off MMA to pursue his boxing career and his return is yet unclear. This means that the potential fight would likely have to happen around the summer. Daley (40-15-2) who impressively beat Lorenz Larkin last September via second-round KO has affirmed that he has long been displeased with the way Bellator has handled the situation.
He wishes to fight before Page is available. A few weeks ago Paul took on his facebook account and wrote the following:
This is NOT about not fighting Page. I’ve repeatedly said I will fight this overrated rookie in summer of 2018, my problem is with Bellator not keeping they’re (sic) agreement with the fights in between now and summer 2018
