There was some interesting matches being made today, and they involve the women.
First it was announced that former UFC bantamweight champion, Holly Holm will attempt to end her three fight losing streak when she moves back down to the bantamweight division and faces former UFC bantamweight title challenger, Bethe Correia. The fight is scheduled to be the main event of UFC Fight Night 111 on June 17th in Singapore. Correia will enter the contest coming off a majority draw with Marion Reneau.
The other female contest that was announced is that Jessica Aguilar will face off against Cortney Casey at UFC 211 on May 13th in Dallas, Texas. Aguilar, will return to the octagon after 21 month absent. Aguilar has only fought in the UFC once, when she lost to Claudia Gadelha.. Casey will be returning after also losing to Gadelha in her last fight.
Lastly, Fighters Only magazine is reporting that former light heavyweight champion, Vitor Belfort will rematch Anderson Silva at UFC 212 on June 3rd in Brazil . However Silva has already denied the report, and stated that he would be interested in rematching Nick Diaz instead.
