The UFC matchmakers have continued to stay busy by recently announcing two other fights to upcoming cards.
First is a lightweight contest as Rashid Magomedov will face Bobby Green at UFC on Fox 23 on April 15th in Kansas City, Missouri. Magomedov recently had his 12 fight winning streak snapped by Beneil Dariush. Green will look to get back into the win column after dropping his last two fights to Edwin Barboza and Dustin Poirier.
The second announced fight is the main event when the UFC returns to Stockholm, Sweden. The fight announced is between former light heavyweight title contenders Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira. The two were originally scheduled to face each other in June of 2015 but Gustafsson was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury.
Gustafsson enters the contest after picking up a win against Jan Blachowicz last September. Gustafsson was scheduled to return this past November against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira but had to withdraw due to injury. Texeira enters the contest after beating Jared Cannonier at UFC 208.
Lastly, there is rumors that former light weight champion, Eddie Alvarez is expected to make his first return since losing the belt at UFC 205 to Conor McGrgeor. He is expected to return against Dustin Poirier at UFC 211 in Dallas, Texas on May 11th. Poirier has hinted on his Twitter that he has signed a contract to fight but his opponent has yet signed the papers.
Stay tuned for further updates.
