Vitor “Lex Luthor” Miranda 12-6 MMA (3-3 UFC) has pulled himself from UFC on Fox 26 vs Julian “The Cuban Missile Crisis” Marquez 6-1 MMA, Darren “The Dentist” Stewart 7-2-1 MMA (0-2-1 UFC) steps in.
Miranda decided to take a break from competition to focus on his personal life at the moment. In a recent statement Miranda revealed:
“There are a lot of things happening in my life right now. I just got married, I’m opening my gym in Joinville and my Wife’s pregnancy demands more attention because she has symphysis pubis dysfunction and that demands more time. Some reports came out wrong saying that was concerning. It’s not a concern but that demands more time and that affected my training, that reflected in the gym. My coaches started to notice. They asked me what’s happening in my life because I wasn’t 100% in there and we know you can’t fight in the UFC if you’re not 100% focused.”
Stewart is coming off a first round submission loss to Karl “Baby K” Roberson 6-0 MMA (1-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 120 in November. This will make the fourth walk to the octagon for Stewart who came into the UFC with a 7-fight winning streak. After losing his no contest re-match to Francimar Barroso at UFC Fight Night 107 in March, Stewart is still looking for his first UFC win.
Marquez is riding a 4-fight winning streak coming off Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series second round head kick KO of Phil “Megatron” Hawes 4-2 MMA in August. He has KO/TKO stoppages in all 6 of his wins with four in the first round.
