ESPN is reporting that UFC featherweight champion, Max Holloway will make his first title defense at UFC 218. He will reportedly face former UFC lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar.
Holloway is on an impressive 11-fight winning streak. He won the UFC interim featherweight title when he defeated Anthony Pettis at UFC 206. He became the undisputed champion when he defeated Jose Aldo by TKO at UFC 212.
Edgar will be looking to join the group of Randy Couture, BJ Penn, and Conor McGregor as the only UFC fighters to win titles in multiple weight classes. He will enter the fight winning 7 out of his last 8 fights with his last loss to Aldo at UFC 200. He is currently on a two-fight winning streak. He beat Jeremy Stephens at UFC 205 and Yair Rodriguez at UFC 211.
Holloway vs Edgar will headline UFC 218 on December 2nd in Detroit, Michigan.
