MMA Fighting has reported that Chidi “Chidi Bang Bang” Njokuani (17-5-1) will be looking to bounce back from his TKO loss to Andrey Koreshkov as he makes his Middleweight debut facing Asian prospect Hisaki “The Japanese Musketeer” Kato (8-2). The bout has been scheduled to take place on the 1st of December at the Winstar World Casino, Oklahoma for Bellator 189: Budd Vs Blencowe 2.
Njokuanis’ move to the Middleweight division was expected as he has not competed at 170 in his last 3 fights, either missing weight or settling for Catchweight bouts.
On the other hand, Hisaki Kato, who competes in both MMA and kickboxing is riding a 3 fight win streak against Ralek Gracie, AJ. Matthews and Yuta Watanabe as well as a noteable win against Joe Schilling via spinning backfist.
Chris Honeycutt (9-1) vs Rafael Lovato (6-0) have also been added to the card in addition to the main event: Julia Budd (9-2) vs Arlene Blencowe (7-5).
