Former UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo Jr was asked in a recent video when and who he is fighting next. The Brazilian stated that he is fighting November 4th (UFC 217) against Ricardo Lamas. However, Combate is reporting that the two fighters have actually verbally agreed to fight each other in December.
The two fighters fought at UFC 169 in 2014. Aldo successfully defended his UFC featherweight title in his first run as champion. He beat Lamas by unanimous decision.
Aldo heads into the contest after losing the featherweight title for the second time, when he was knocked out by Max Holloway at UFC 212. Lamas heads into the contest on a two-fight winning streak. He last fought at UFC 214 when he knocked out Jason Knight.
No official date has been announced yet. UFC 218 is scheduled on December 2nd in Detroit, Michigan and UFC 219 is scheduled for December 30th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
