Jon Jones received some really good news today. Ariel Helwani is reporting that the UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Jones passed a post fight blood test that was taken by USADA on July 29th, after Jones defeated Daniel Cormier.
Jones failed a urine test on July 28th in which he tested positive for the anabolic steroid, Turnibol.
Jones was stripped of the UFC Interim Light Heavyweight title when he failed an in competition test for UFC 200. He was suspended a year for testing positive for two steroids, though USADA ruled they came from a tainted substance.
Jones did pass seven random USADA tests prior to his positive tests. Those on Jones side questions how he passed the unannounced tests but would fail the announced test.
Jones is waiting for the results of the B sample. If it comes back positive Jones could be facing a suspension of up to four years.
It should be noted that the blood screening does not test for Turnibol.
