The UFC has announced that two of the brightest young bantamweights in the world with face off against each other. Jimmie Rivera and Thomas Almeida will face each other at UFC on Fox 25 on July 22nd in Long Island, New York. The two fighters have some of the most impressive records on the roster. The two fighters combine for a 42-2 record.
Rivera enters the contest with a 4-0 UFC record and will be attempting to win his 20th straight fight. He was expected to square off against Bryan Caraway at UFC Fight Night 103 last January but Caraway had to withdraw from the fight due to an injury. Marlon Vera was announced to be Caraway’s replacement, but Rivera would refuse to face Vera due to Vera not being ranked in the division.
Almeida was able to rebound from his first career loss when he knocked out Allbert Morales this past November.
