It appears that Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo will have to withdraw from a scheduled fight against Sergio Pettis again. The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting that Cejudo was forced to evacuate from the Fountain Grove Inn in Santa Rose, which was set ablaze from the Wine Country In. Cejudo was forced to jump from the 2nd story balcony in which he broke one of his ankles from the landing.
Cejudo was coming off a win over Wilson Reis in his last fight while Pettis beat Brandon Moreno in his last fight.
This would be the 2nd time that a fight between Cejudo and Pettis has been canceled due to an injury to Cejudo.
The UFC has not yet responded to the story and have not stated if Pettis will remain on the card.
UFC 218 is scheduled for December 4th in Detroit, Michigan.
UPDATED: Contrary to reports that Cejudo has broken his ankle, he has made a statement that he didn’t break his ankle but received burns on his foot instead.
