Two fighters that have been away from the MMA will be making their long-awaited return to the UFC. MMA Today is reporting that Guido Cannetti and Kang Kyung-Ho will fight each other at UFC Fight Night 124.
Background on Cannetti and Kyung-Ho
Cannetti is a fighter out of Argentina, who was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter Latin America. He is currently 1-1 in the UFC. He defeated Hugo Viana at UFC 190 in August of 2015. Cannetti was set to face Marco Beltran at The Ultimate Fighter 3 but was removed from the card due to a USADA violation. It was discovered later that his USADA violation was due to a tainted supplement.
Kyung-Ho is coming back from an even longer layoff. The South Korean fighter is currently 2-1 with a No-Contest. He is riding a 2-fight winning streak with back to back wins over Shunichi Shimizu and Michinori Tanaka. He hasn’t fought since September of 2014 due to a two-year mandatory military service.
UFC Fight Night 124 is scheduled for January 14th in St. Louis, Missouri.
