Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion, Garry Tonon, has signed a multi-fight contract with ONE Fighting Championships. The 26-year-old is known for his battles with Conor McGregor’s BJJ coach, Dillon Danis
Tonon’s professional MMA debut is expected to be at 170 pounds.
He was with the promotion once before as he took on Japanese fighter Shinya Aoki. He battled with Aoki in a grappling match and came away with a victory. The American submitted the Japanese legend via heel hook
Tonon has been a jujitsu practitioner since the age of 14 and has won multiple IBJJF no-gi championships. He has a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu under longtime coaches Tom deBlass and Ricardo Almeida.
The organization has not yet announced when his debut will be nor who he will be fighting.
