Fabricio Werdum apologizes for using homophobic slur
During yesterdays media lunch for UFC 216, Fabricio Werdum and Tony Ferguson got into a heated battle. Werdum ended up crossing the line in this heated argument by calling Ferguson f****t many times in Spanish. Werdum was quick to release an apology via Twitter this afternoon as soon as he realized that he offended people of the LGBT community. Werdum’s tweet was as follows:
“Maricon is a common word in Spanish culture and I do not mean to offend anyone in the LGB community and if I did I’m apologetic. #heeyy”
Both Werdum and Ferguson were promoting their fight for the upcoming UFC 216 event next weekend on October 7th. Werdum, the former UFC heavyweight champion, is set to take on Derrick Lewis at UFC 216.
