Just days after UFC President, Dana White informed TNT that the UFC has finalized negotiations with current UFC lightweight Conor McGregor for a potential boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr, McGregor has applied for a boxing license in Nevada.
McGregor also released a statement stating “It is an honor to sign this record-breaking deal alongside my partners at Zuffa LLC, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and Paradigm Sports Management. The first and most important part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on. Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days”.
Mayweather was asked about proposed fight with McGregor at the Liam Walsh and Gervonta Davis press conference. He responded by saying, “let’s focus on these two competitors”.
Ariel Helwani is also reporting that the fight is close to happening. He said a source close to him said the “ball is in the redzone”.
