After over a year away from the octagon, the “Natural Born Killer” is finally returning. It was announced during Wednesday’s UFC Tonight show that Carlos Condit will fight Neil Magny at UFC 219.
Condit, the former interim welterweight champion, is on a two-fight winning streak and has lost 5 out of his last 7 fights. Condit fought Robbie Lawler for the welterweight title at UFC 195. He lost in a very controversial decision in a fight of the year candidate, Condit looked to rebound when he fought Demian Maia in his last fight, but was quickly submitted in the first round. Condit contemplated retirement after the loss but decided to return after what will be an 18-month layoff.
Magny will be making his 18th appearance in the Octagon. He defeated former UFC welterweight champion, Johny Hendricks at UFC 207, but was unable to build off that win. He lost to former lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos by 1st round submission at UFC 215.
UFC 219 is scheduled for December 30th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
