Just a few day ago, UFC President, Dana White said that the announced fight between current middleweight champion, Michael Bisping and longtime welterweight champion, Georges St. Pierre is off and Yoel Romero will face Bisping next. Bisping stated that this is news to him.
“Honestly, it’s news to me. I haven’t heard anything about it. I reach out to Georges and he said he hasn’t heard anything officially either, and I still haven’t heard anything from the UFC or Dana White”, Bisping stated on his podcast. He went on to say, “so yeah, to clarify, as of right now, no official word from the UFC. I haven’t heard anything and Georges is still hoping for it, I’m still hoping for it”.
St. Pierre created a video where he told Bising that he would face him after October. This forced White to replace St. Pierre with Romero. However, Bising os stating that he is still recovering from knee surgery so a delayed fight with St. Pierre could be next.
“A delay is a blessing in disguise because I can’t fight anytime soon. I can’t exercis, I can’t train. My knee is giving me many, many problems. …So long stoyr short, what I’m getting at is I’m not goung to be ready to fight anytime soon so again, that’s another reason why this plays into the prefect secenario for me”.
