Just days after it was announced that Bellator signed long time UFC veteran, Ryan Bader, they announced today that they signed former UFC interim bantamweight title challenger Michael McDonald.
McDonald, who was 17-4 in MMA including a 6-3 UFC record, is only 26 years old. McDonald was released from the UFC after requesting for it. He has been very outspoken about the amount of money that has been given to fighters. He recently said that he was taking time off from the UFC because he couldn’t afford to train. He also has called the UFC immoral and dishonest in contract negotiations.
McDonald enters his Bellator debut on a loss to John Lineker. There is no word on when McDonald will debut nor who he will fight, but the contract is a multi-fight contract.
