Bellator Announces Gegard Mousasi’s First Match Plus Additional Fights

On Friday night, Bellator announced several fights for upcoming cards including newly signed Gegard Mousasi’s first opponent.

Then organization announced that Mousasi will face former Bellator champion, Alexander Shlemenko and former light heavyweight champions Muhammad “King Mo” Lawal and Liam McGeary will face. These two matches were announced for Bellator 185, which will take place on October 20th in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Mousasi will enter the fight riding a five-fight winning streak in the UFC. Shlemenko is currently on a six-fight winning streak. Lawal is coming off a win over Quinton Jackson while McGeary is on a two-fight losing streak.

The organization also announced fights for Bellator 184, which will be held October 6th in Thackerville, Oklahoma. They announced that Eduardo Dantas will defend his bantamweight title against former NCAA national wrestling champion, Darrion Caldwell. Also former featherweight champion, Daniel Straus will face Emmanuel Sanchez.
