The UFC has released a statement announcing Anderson Silva has been pulled from his upcoming bout At UFC Fight Night 122 in Shanghai, China.
USADA has flagged the former middleweight champion after an out of competition drug test that was administered on October 26th. Silva was set to take on Kelvin Gastelum in the main event of the November 25th event. USADA has provisionally suspended Silva and the UFC is searching for a replacement to take on Gastelum.
The 42-year-old Brazilian has had a rough run in recent years. Winning a controversial decision in his last bout against Derek Brunson, he has not officially won another fight since beating Stephen Bonnar in 2012. While he did beat Nick Diaz in 2015, the result was overturned after Silva failed a post-fight urine test for PEDs.
