Aljamain Sterling (14-3) has addressed his KO loss suffered in his bantamweight bout against Marlon Moraes (20-5). He was KO’d 67 seconds into the first round as he went for a takedown whilst Moraes threw a high kick which resulted in a knee to his face. The knockout is a clear contender for KO of the year.
Sterling released the following statement through his social media:
Sterling, who started his UFC run with 4 consecutive wins, is now 2-3 in his last 5 fights with losses coming to the hands of Bryan Caraway, Marlon Moraes, and Raphael Assuncao. His wins are over Renan Barao and Augusto Mendes.
Moraes on the other hand earns his second UFC wins after losing his debut in a split decision to Raphael Assuncao and winning one over John Dodson.
