Nurmagomedov out; Tim Means in against Sérgio Moraes at UFC Fight Night 125

Abubakar Nurmagomedov (14-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is out, Tim “Dirty Bird” Means (27-9-1, 1NC MMA, 9-6-1NC UFC) in at UFC Fight Night 125, faces off with Sérgio “The Panther” Moraes (12-3-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC).

Abubakar Nurmagomedov (14-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has been ruled out due to visa issues. He will no longer be on the card.

Tim “Dirty Bird” Means (27-9-1-1NC MMA, 9-6-1NC UFC) is looking to rebound after his close split decision loss in his last fight against Belal “Remember The Name” Muhammad (13-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 121. Before this spilt decision loss Means had won 8 out of 10 bouts, only losing to Matt “The immortal” Brown (21-16 MMA, 14-10 UFC) via submmission in round one and to Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira (18-5-1-2NC MMA, 6-3-1NC UFC) via second round rear-naked-choke at UFC Fight Night 106. This was the second meeting with Oliveira, as they had a no-contest at UFC 207. Means most recent win came against Tristar Prospect Alex “The Dominican Nightmare” Garcia (15-4 MMA, 5-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 112 by unanimous decision.

 

Sérgio “The Panther” Moraes (12-3-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) Is also looking to rebound from a first round knockout loss to Kamaru “The Nigerian Nightmare” Usman (11-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 116. The loss to Usman snapped a 2-fight winning streak and a 7-fight unbeaten streak for the Brazilian native, who is going to return to his home country for the sixth time under the UFC banner. Moraes’s most notable wins in the UFC have come against Neil Magny (20-6 MMA, 13-5 UFC) via first round submission and Omari “Wolverine” Akhmedov (17-4-1 MMA, 5-3-1 UFC) via third round TKO.

This bout will be contested at welterweight (170 lbs)
