Francis Ngannou Calls Out Alistair Overeem
Earlier this week Francis Ngannou’s UFC 215 opponent Junior dos Santos was pulled from the card due to a potential anti-doping violation. Now with Junior dos Santos out of UFC 215, Ngannous is in need of a new opponent. With UFC only a couple weeks away it may be hard to find an opponent for Ngannou to take one. That hasn’t stopped Ngannou from calling out Alistair Overeem on his Twitter account. Saturday morning Francis Ngannous tweeted from his account saying:
“@alistairovereem been mentioning my name everywhere. I’m now open and free for you guy. Let do this at #ufc215”
Alistair Overeem last fought only 2 months ago at UFC 213. Overeem ended up getting a win over Fabricio Werdum by unanimous decision. Overeem who has won 6 of his last 7 fights would be taking a risk if he were to fight on 3 weeks notice and only 2 months to recover from his last fight. If Overeem were to fight, he would be taking on a well-refreshed monster. Ngannou is currently riding a 9 fight winning streak with all 9 wins coming by stoppage. Ngannous has incredible striking power and also can beat you with his wrestling.
UFC 215 is set to take place on September 9th in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The headliner for UFC 215 is Demetrious Johnson vs Ray Borg for the Flyweight championship.
